Pastoral Call Process

Call Process Page

Congregational Retreat, Saturday, December 2, 2017

Thanks to all who were able to attend and participate in our Congregational Retreat to begin the Call Process as we seek the next Pastor to join Good Shepherd Lutheran Church on our journey. Particpipants met from 8:30AM to 1:30PM, Saturday, December 2, 2017. We were blessed to have the Retreat facilitated by Sister Michelle, a Deaconness from the Florida-Bahamas Synod, who assisted us with this first group step on this portion of the search. While this gathering did not name the Call Committee, it was a very helpful, thought-provoking exercise in working together to start the conversation of who best fits the role of the next Earthly shepherd of this flock.
Primarily, those gathered for this event were asked to explore and verbalize our values, those of the church we share, and those that we seek in our next leader. It was repeatedly stated that this was the first step of this process, and this merely starts the conversation. All members, attendees, and interested parties are heartily encouraged to share their thoughts, feelings, suggestions, and recommendations as we all share this wonderful church home.
Please watch this space for further updates on the proceedings as we work toward our multi-faceted goals: A definition and statements of our values and mission and the formation of the formal Call Committee. Naturally, and the point of this process, for culminating our search for a Pastor who both fits our needs and identity and can help us hear the direction the Good Shepherd is leading in with His still, small, voice.
Pictures to be posted shortly.

For this is the message that you have heard from
the beginning, that we should love one another.”
